Abstract
ABSTRACT In pornographic industries, the transmasculine and non-binary genres are still regarded as a new and burgeoning niche. In this article, I examine the under-representation of transmasculine and non-binary people in the camming industry. The overlapping systems of cissexism, transmisogyny, and White supremacy structure the industry and micro-level interactions between workers and clients. Cissexism, transmisogyny, and racism overlap and have shaped consumer demand and access to employment in various sex markets – especially pornography – a trend we are now seeing change. With more radical transformation within online pornography, the camming industry will shift as well. I join the growing chorus of trans people and their allies who have called for a more sex-positive and celebratory focus on trans sexualities, especially in pornographic industries. A world with more inclusive and ethical porn is also a world where far more people can access sexual liberation.
