Abstract
The article deals with the actual problem of modernity, related to the preservation of cultural values, historical heritage. The authors trace the cultural development of man through the prism of epochs. The article reflects the results of a sociological study of students' attitudes to cultural values as an important component of society. The reference points of this problem are analyzed. The connection of the preservation of cultural values with the upbringing of important personality qualities in the younger generation: patriotism, respect for the past, pride in the deeds of ancestors is shown. Conclusions are drawn about the need for culture in human life, as well as the preservation of cultural heritage monuments.
