Abstract
This article focuses on cultural mediation in performing arts centers. Since their creation, performing arts centers have been showcasing heritage, but they are also faced with issues of access and participation. To address these concerns, these centers are turning to cultural mediation as a solution. This article is based on semi-structured interviews with six major performing arts centers in North America. In addition to highlighting the similarities and differences arising from the plural strategic approaches to cultural mediation developed in these centers, this article presents an analysis of the relationship established with their audiences.
