Abstract

The “Cultural Heritage: Educational Activities in the Historic Center of Iguape” was an initiative of University of São Paulo’s Cultural Preservation Center – Casa de Dona Yayá, involving heritage education activities with students and professors from public schools in Vale do Ribeira, the southern part of the state of São Paulo, with both the least developed Human Development Index in the state and one of the richest sites of cultural heritage. The activities happened in March 2023, in the city of Iguape, usinga mobile unit provided by the Dean of Culture and University Extension. The project impacted 22 public schools in Vale do Ribeira and several peopleinterested in reflecting, as well as providing social identification with the cultural heritage of Iguape and it’s surrounding.
