Abstract

Thus far we have examined regional modernities and their representations in theatrical texts and performances. We have highlighted the ways that modernity has been reimagined as a process of flow and in the final chapter of this book we consider this factor in relation to cultural interactions across the region. If, as we have argued, contemporary cultural production is a marker of new modernities, then it is also important to consider the rising prominence of regional transnational forms of cultural exchange.
