Abstract

ABSTRACT The article features a virtual panel discussion between the author and three women who hold leadership positions. Their discussion reflects on factors contributing to their leadership roles and career success. Some common themes like relationship building and teamwork emerged. Their discussion adds richness by providing context and personal experience. They discuss several other such themes: to engender trust, to be adaptable, and to be willing to learn, etc. The panelists go on to recommend strategies to overcome potential gender biases: knowing the audience, sticking to facts, projecting confidence, etc. They highlight key factors like relationships, authenticity, continuous learning, mentorship, preparation, and self-confidence that enabled these leaders to overcome obstacles and achieve career success. This article helps readers better understand the reasons behind these factors.
