Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this article is to contend that evidence-based practice (EBP) implementation in neurogenic communication disorders is heavily influenced by the organizational culture where services are delivered. We describe examples of speech-language pathologists (SLPs) strategically integrating themselves into their workplaces to cultivate an organizational culture of EBP by altering infrastructure and developing relationships. Conclusions: SLPs have potential to be powerful influencers of organizational culture to support EBP. Implementation strategies that have organizational impact may also facilitate closing the research-to-practice gap in neurogenic communication disorders.
