Abstract
This article focuses on the analysis of nursing practices in cases of exogenous intoxication, with a focus on suicide attempts. The objective is to investigate how nursing interventions can contribute to the prevention of suicide due to exogenous intoxication and its influence on the quality of care provided to patients in a hospital environment. The methodology chosen was a literature review in which it went through some steps that will contribute to the theoretical basis through data analysis and information on the subject. In this way, 20 articles published from 2005 to 2024 were chosen through the Scielo, google scholar, virtual health library websites, and data were collected through the Tabnet system, DataSUS, which provides epidemiological data on exogenous intoxication, and suicide attempts related to this problem. With this, one of the ways to prevent exogenous intoxication and also suicide is through education and information: the nurse is one of the professionals The nurse is one of the nursing professionals with the competence to share information about the consequences of suicide attempts in an exogenous way, treatment, medication, and management strategy. This knowledge can enable the patient, thus helping to reduce depressive symptoms and even preventing suicide.
