Abstract

The reaction of CuCl, dppm (bis(diphenylphosphino)methane), and TCNQ with a molar ratio set of 2:2:1 produced a one-dimensional compound 1 {[Cu2(μ-Cl)(μ-dppm)2](μ2-TCNQ)}∞. Its structure was determined by X-ray crystallography. The new compound 1 was studied by IR and UV/Vis/NIR spectroscopy. 1 exhibits an intervalence transfer transition at λ=1296nm, and also appears photoluminescence (λmax=818nm) at room temperature.
