Abstract

Possibility of existence of a drift-wave and its role on the dust-Coulomb crystal formation in an inhomogeneous, magnetized, and collisional dusty plasma with a continuous ion flow has been examined. It is noted that dust crystallization takes place predominantly in the inhomogeneous region of the dusty plasma with low magnetic field. The damping of the wake potential due to ion-neutral collisions restricts the formation of dust crystal within a few layers.
