Abstract

It is known that polymer-salt complexes can be formed between PEO and certain metal halides. In this work, the degree of crystallinity within the system PbX 2(PEO) 16, for X= Cl, Br and I, has been studied by X-ray diffraction methods in the temperature range RT-200°C. The results obtained are related to earlier dynamical mechanical analysis (DMA) studies of the same series. An intimate relationship between degree of crystallinity, stiffness and temperature can be identified.
