Abstract

The behavior, which can be interpreted as the formation of a crystal-like structure of magnetic flux quanta (fluxons) with increasing absolute value of external magnetic field has been revealed by measuring of the magnetic moment dependence on magnetic field of the Josephson array with superconductor–normal metal–superconductor (SNS) contacts. A decrease in field causes disorder in a given crystal-like structure in the array which can be treated as crystal lattice melting.
