Abstract
Hydrolysis of a solution of C70 in triphenylphosphite leads to the supramolecular adduct 2C70·5C6H5OH. The crystal structure was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The overall structure can be derived from the ThB4 structure type and described by a 32·4·3·4-net of C70 and hydrogen-bonded, ring-like tetramers and hexamers of phenol filling cube-like voids.
