Abstract

Phase relations between La2-xSrxCuO4 solidus and liquidus were determined by TG-DTA and a slow-cooling experiment. Single crystals of high Sr-doped La2-xSrxCuO4 (x>0.15) were grown by the TSFZ method on the basis of the phase relations. The grown crystals, 5 mm in diameter and about 30 mm in length, were crack-free and black with a metallic luster. The grown crystals of x=0.20 had no inclusions and subgrains. However, the grown crystals of x=0.25 contained subgrains, and those of x=0.30 had inclusions of La2-xSr1+xCu2O6+δ.
