Abstract

The morphology of growing crystals is discussed in terms of the distinction between total geometric, and effective crystal surface areas. Relationships between the increase in geometric and effective surface areas, as a function of the experimentally determinable mass deposited on the growing crystals, are discussed in terms of geometric shape factors.
