Abstract

The major recent advances in the crystal chemistry and domain properties of relaxor piezoelectric single crystals include: (i) A better understanding of the phase nature and components near the morphotropic phase boundary; (ii) The establishment of high temperature phase diagrams and development of improved growth techniques that provide piezocrystal resources for characterization and applications; (iii) A deeper insight into the mesoscopic domain structures of the morphotropic rhombohedral, tetragonal and monoclinic phases.
