Abstract
Abstract CRUCIBLE CPM 10V is a unique tool steel made by the Crucible Particle Metallurgy (CPM) process. It is designed with a tough, air-hardening base analysis with added high carbon and vanadium. This provides CPM 10V with a combination of exceptionally good wear resistance, toughness and strength for cold and warm-work applications. It is an excellent candidate to replace carbide and other highly wear-resistant materials in cold-work tooling applications, particularly where tool breakage or chipping is a problem or where cost effectiveness can be demonstrated. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and bend strength as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on wear resistance as well as forming, heat treating, and machining. Filing Code: TS-340. Producer or source: Crucible Specialty Metals Division, Colt Industries.
