Abstract
A 1-bit reconfigurable linearly polarized unit cell design for a C-band transmitarray is presented. The unit cell consists of two square-ring patches, which are connected using a coupling element. Coupling element allows increasing the operational bandwidth of the unit cell but may cause parasitic cross polarization. The paper is focused on methods of cross-polarization reduction in the unit cell of the transmitarray. To suppress the cross polarization, two different approaches have been proposed. The modified unit cell design with additional via holes from the patch antenna to the ground plane was chosen as a solution. As a proof of concept the measurements of the subarray consisting of the modified unit cells are carried out and discussed.
