Abstract

The dynamic mechanical and dielectrical properties of a rigid polyurethane foam (PUF) were investigated as a function of the crosslinking density, the methods of synthesis and heat treatment, and of water saturation of the original PUF. IR spectroscopy was used to show structural changes as a result of heat treatment and water saturation. Several ranges of relaxation transitions have been detected, and the activation energies have been determined.
