Abstract
Metal-Ceramic composites are a special class of materials, including elements as matrix and reinforcements. These composites, especially metal matrix composites, are of great significance in several high-end engineering applications due to their tunable conductivity, strength, and toughness. This review paper summarizes studies carried out to fabricate metal-ceramic composites by additive manufacturing. Various metal matrix composites such as titanium matrix composites, cobalt matrix composites, iron matrix composites, nickel matrix composites, and aluminum matrix composites are elaborated in detail. The paper provides an in-depth analysis of applications, trends, opportunities, and outlook for additive manufacturing of Metal-Ceramic composites.
