Abstract
Abstract Superconducting Y-Ba-Cu-O (YBCO) and Y-Ba-Na-Cu-O thin films were deposited on MgO substrate using a resistive evaporation technique. BaF2 and NaF powder were used as source materials for Ba and Na elements, respectively, and pure small grains for the Y and Cu elements. In situ heat treatment has been carried out at low oxygen partial pressure. The critical current density of Na doped YBCO film was measured to be significantly higher than that of pure YBCO film.
