Criteria for the design of active filters using resistance and capacitance elements in feedback circuits

Abstract

The criteria for the design of active filters using resistance and capacitance as elements of the feedback circuit are developed from an analysis of the representative three two-port system. The resulting criteria are similar to the known stability criteria of feedback systems. The simplicity of the design method using these criteria is demonstrated by several examples; a low-pass, high-pass and bandpass filter and a resistance coupled transistor feedback-pair.
