Abstract

AbstractVarious criteria for random degradation of linear polymers were evaluated. Some preference is given for a criterion that compares the relative decreases in weight‐ and number‐average molecular weights with those expected from theory because it utilizes the maximum information available and essentially includes the other useful criteria. Several examples of data from the literature were examined in this way.
