Abstract

This study aims to present a view of the Korean child care crisis problems and disaster management. This study diagnosed and analyzed serious risk factors on disaster and safety and provided prospects for future development in this area. Problems and issues of safety-disaster management in Korean child care are 1) discrepancy between policies and fields, 2) problems in laws, 3) problems in administrative management systems, 4) problems in safety educations, and 5) child abuse and SIDS. Further suggestions to overcome these problems are to improve treatment of nursing teachers, amendment of related laws on safety, and development of more applicable and concrete manuals for disaster management.
