Abstract
In this paper, we investigate the impact of music exposure on novice designers’ creativity performance. We found that compared to without-music, exposure to fast-tempo music significantly improved their ideas’ fluency and flexibility. These results indicate that exposure to fast-tempo music can enhance novice designers’ performance on design tasks. As a low-cost and convenient way of promoting creative thinking, music could use in creativity education and training.
