Abstract

Abstract A major difference among evolutionary theories of organization concerns the degree to which individual organizations are viewed as inertial. At one end of the continuum lies the economic-evolutionary theories of Nelson and Winter (1982). They view organizations as somewhat adaptable, capable of transformations undertaken in response to environmental change.
