Abstract

Aim of investigation. Coverage of the process of the emergence and formation of informal societies in Sumy region and characterization of the main directions of their activity. The article analyzes and studies the pecul-iarities of the formation and functioning of informal societies on the territory of the Sumy region during the years of restructuring (1985–1991).The article outlines the main stages of the socio-political activity of leaders of informal societies, in particular the head of the club, the thought of Alexander Kobyakov, the head of the «Heritage» society of Alexei Shevchenko, and also the leader of the Union for the facilitation of the restructuring of Vladimir Mayboroda.The forms and methods of the struggle of informal societies for the formation of an independent Ukrainian state are analyzed. Methods of research: when solving specific features of restructuring processes in Sumy region, problem-chronological, comparative methods, as well as systematization and classification of facts were used. Scientific novelty: an attempt was made in depth and detail, based on the analysis of a large number of diverse sources and literature, to investigate the entire spectrum of activities of socio-political informal societies in Sumy region during the period of perestroika. Conclusions. Informal organizations in Sumy region were divided into 2 types: cultural organizations – aimed at the development of literature, art, theater; political – who were engaged in issues of the Ukrainian language, international relations, the establishment of independence.
