Abstract

Has worked in addiction for 15 years, with prior nursing experience in education and mental health. He currently manages Health Services, an integrated team of nurses, psychologists, and physicians at Hazelden, Center City, Minnesota. He completed his undergraduate studies at Metropolitan State University, followed by doctoral work at the Fielding Institute. He has presented workshops on dual diagnosis, taught graduate courses, and has published a number of papers on the application of rational therapy in substance dependency treatment. He is both a registered nurse and a licensed psychologist, Has worked in the field of chemical dependency for the past 13 years. Previous nursing experience includes home healthcare, geriatric, and med-surg nursing. In the past, her roles have included primary nurse, head nurse, and currently, nursing coordinator. She promotes person-centered nursing care and building team relationships based on total quality management principles. Her nursing education was completed at Normandale Community College, and she received a B.S. from College of St. Francis.
