Abstract
Griffis and Cooper were part of a team at the Richland County Public Library (RCPL) that sought to re-introduce a local resources database that would serve as an index and provide abstracts for articles in local magazines and newspapers that were not indexed in any other resource. This database also included an Obituary Index and a Quick Facts database. Their presentation provided an overview of how this local resources database was originated and organized. They also focused on the various tasks involved with the implementation of this database, including decision-making tasks, quality control measures, training of staff, and digitization issues. They discussed document delivery to patrons and problems and obstacles that were encountered post-implementation.
