Abstract
In order to guide the design of superior estimator of time difference of arrival (TDOA) and frequency difference of arrival (FDOA) based on satellite radiation source, the Cramer-Rao Lower Bounds (CRLBs) of TDOA and FDOA estimation in this system model are derived in this letter. Firstly, the CRLBs of the joint TDOA and FDOA estimation, TDOA estimation as well as FDOA estimation are derived by using the probability density function (PDF) of weak echo signal and Fisher information matrix (FIM), respectively. The theoretical analysis shows the CRLBs of TDOA and FDOA estimation are affected by the signal to noise ratio (SNR) and the waveform parameters of weak echo signal, and the numerical results support the theoretical analysis.
