Abstract

The paper is concerned with the problem of diffraction of P-waves by a griffith crack situated at the interface of two different orthotropic media has been analyzed. Using Fourier transformation and integral equation method, the mixed boundary value problem has been reduced to the solution of dual integral equations which has finally been reduced to the solution of a Fredholm integral equation of the second kind which are finally solved by using perturbation method. Stress intensity factor (SIF) around the crack tip has been derived. The values of SIF has been calculated for various type of orthotropic materials and decorated graphically.
