Abstract
This cover picture shows the design and synthesis of N‐heterocyclic carbenes bearing a nido‐C2B9 carborane ligand as the backbones. In this work, gold(I) complex was prepared to prove the imidazolium salts could serve as carbene ligands and the computational analyses revealed high‐lying lone pair orbitals of these ligands, predicting their strong σ–donating abilities.
