Abstract

The Front Cover shows categorization of synthetic methods for multiply arylated/alkylated pyridines according to the reaction patterns. Versatile pyridine frameworks possessing less polar and inactive aryl/alkyl groups are constructed by condensation of building blocks, cycloaddition, and ring transformation altering the substrates. Suzuki–Miyaura cross-coupling reaction is also used for introducing aryl groups to the pyridine ring. The graphic image represents chemistry reactions drawn with chalk on a board by a professor for a lecture to students. See the Review by N. Nishiwaki and co-workers (DOI:10.1002/tcr.202200099).
