Abstract

The Cover Feature represents the power of a domino semi-pinacol-Schmidt reaction in the synthesis of biologically relevant molecules, bearing aza-tricyclic core. The flow of water from the mountain is natural and proceeds on its own without any visible external force. Likewise, the domino reaction is a spontaneous, efficient, and downhill process, which leads to the final product with high degree of stereoselectivity through a series of reactions in one pot. In this art, each fall represents the formation and interconversion of each intermediate that spontaneously participates in the subsequent reactions in a stereoselective manner to give the angularly fused aza-tricyclic product in a domino fashion. These highly decorated intermediates were then converted to the 7 a-epi-(+)-Lepadiformine C and utilized in the formal synthesis of 7 a-epi-(−)-Lepadiformine A. Cover feature was designed by S.
