Abstract

Two robust structure-defined NHC-Palladacycle complexes with N/O-aliphatic substituents have been successfully developed, which acted as catalysts in the Suzuki-Miyaura coupling of various (hetero)aryl chlorides with a wide range of substrate adaptability under the aqueous and mild reaction conditions. Their structures are very similar, just like the Real and Fake Monkey King. Among them, the constrained complex exhibited higher catalytic efficiency than its flexible analogue.
