Abstract

AbstractThis chapter summarizes recent developments in the field of coupling reactions in organoaqueous media with a focus on representative and historical examples. The first part is dedicated to Grignard‐type reactions including 1,2‐additions to carbonyl derivatives and pinacol couplings. The second part places the stress on selected reactivity of alkenes and alkynes, such as the hydroformylation reaction, Mizoroki–Heck coupling and some cyclization reactions. The final part focuses on more classic coupling reactions, including Tsuji–Trost, Suzuki–Miyaura, Sonogashira, Stille, Hartwig–Buchwald and Hiyama reactions. Special attention is devoted to recyclable organometallic systems, asymmetric catalysis, and the synthetic applications of such reactions
