Abstract

The potential of sodium-ion batteries (SIBs), like their utilization in the storage of substantial amounts of energy, has been in the spotlight in recent years. Herein, synthesis of the hybrid that CoTe2 enclosed within N-doped carbon nanonecklace (CoTe2/N-CNN) is reported. As a SIBs anode, CoTe2/N-CNN displays excellent cycling performance (188.9 mAh g−1 at 1.0 A g−1 after 1200 cycles) and noteworthy rate capacity (157.0 mAh g−1 at 5.0 A g−1). These high performances can be ascribed to the distinctive necklace-like configuration, which alleviates the stress and self-agglomeration of CoTe2 nanoparticles and offers active sites and high-efficiency electrolyte diffusion routes. This provides a facile strategy for preparing advanced tellurides for energy storage solutions.
