Abstract

This study is to design a fire detection and notification module that consists of an wireless fire detection system and an alarm system that receives fire-related signals from the wireless fire detection system and notifies the fire location. Based on the networking of these modules, an effective fire detection and notification system is suggested. As for existing P-type receivers, they may generate alarming sounds upon fire but the fire location is perceived only by the receiver. This prevents the fire location from being promptly notified and makes difficult effective evacuation and initial response to fire especially when the manager is absent at the moment. The module suggested in this study makes it easy to install the fire detection system since it is wirelessly connected to the alarm system. Besides, its linkage to the alarm system is through power line communication, which makes the inter-module networking easy. The fire detection and notification system based on networking of independent modules as suggested in this study generates fire alarms and notifications of fire location radially, fire alarms are swiftly delivered upon fire even with the manager absent for effective initial response to fire.
