Abstract
We have remeasured the R(2) line of the 3874 A band of interstellar CN toward Oph and find an equivalent width of 0.120 + 0.074 mA, which implies an R(2)-R(l) rotational temperature of 3.1 (+0.5 , -0.7 ) K. Summing these observations with our earlier spectrum and refitting the summation, we find the R(2) equivalent width to be 0.089 t 0.051 mA, which implies a temperature of 2.9 (+0.4 , -0.5 ) K for the cosmic background radiation at 1.32 mm.
