Corrigendum: Mechanism of the Catalytic Oxidation of Glycerol on Polycrystalline Gold and Platinum Electrodes

Abstract

In our paper, we incorrectly state that the paper by Jeffery and Câmara1 claims a complete oxidation of glycerol to carbon dioxide and carbonate on gold electrodes in alkaline media. However, the paper clearly mentions the existence of other pathways, and the formation of other products, such as those observed in our paper. Therefore, there is no fundamental disagreement between the conclusions of the two papers. We apologize for the misunderstanding.
