Abstract

Fluctuations in poloidal electric field and plasma density have been investigated in the small sized tokamak TV-1 using Langmuir probes. The radial profiles of turbulence correlation parameters demonstrate the considerable difference between their values in the edge plasma and in the scrape-off layer (SOL). The decorrelation of the fluctuations in the SOL results in the lack of turbulence-induced transport of charged particles. The results of dimensional analysis performed for fluctuations both in the edge and in the scrape-off plasmas are consistent with the observed difference.
