Abstract

Correlations in power generation of photovoltaic (PV) power stations could help electric power system operator to understand character of PV power and avoid curtail in PV power generation. In this study, correlations of generation output of two different PV power stations, i.e., HanergyXinhe and Schumann PV power station located in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, is investigated, with viewpoint of geographical location. First, basic description of correlation with time delay is introduced, and then, impact of factors to correlations between generation output of PV power station is analysed. Furthermore, PV output curves of power station in typical weather conditions, i.e., sunny and non-sunny day, are analysed. Moreover, correlation between generation output of two different PV power stations with different weather is investigate. The conclusion that the locations of two PV stations are strongly related to time delay associated with correction in sunny day is verified with field data results.
