Abstract

To tackle the active power control problems of large-scale photovoltaic(PV) power stations, a coordination control strategy for PV station clusters was developed in this paper. This method proposed concept of PV station clusters according to the substation in which they connect together. Meanwhile, the power dispatch order would be allocated to PV station clusters by considering ultra-short-term forecasting power from each cluster. The principle of allocation is based on the percentage of forecasting power and combined with fairness. And then, Haixi grid integrating large-scale photovoltaic power stations is introduced as an example. PV stations in this area were partitioned into five clusters and the case of ultra-short-term forecasting power exceeds dispatch power order was studied. The simulation results show that the strategy can allocate power optimally according to the ultra-short-term forecasting, and ensure the PV generation power of Haixi area does not exceed the dispatch constraint.
