Abstract

Mass transfer of Te(IV) between an aqueous and organic phase was studied in a modified Lewis cell. The organic phase was composed of tri-n butyl phosphate as extractant in de-aromatized kerosene at varying volume ratios. Experimental data were correlated in the form of Sherwood number, Schmidt number of the aqueous phase and Reynolds number and viscosity ratio by dimensional analysis. The correlation obtained is: k 1L D =0.187Sc 0.33 1Re 0.97 μ 2 μ 1 1.6 1+ Re 2μ2 Re 1μ1
