Abstract

Objective To investigate the expression of integrinβ1 in different parts of hepatocel-lular carcinoma( HCC) and its clinical significance. Methods Integrinβ1 expression and distribution were determined in HCC, adjacent tissues and distant tissues by reverse transcriptase -polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) and laser scanning confocal microscopy (LSCM) immunoflurometric assay. The relationship between the integrinβ1 expression and clinic-pathologic features was analyzed accordingly. Results The expression of integrinβ1 in the adjacent and distant tissues was positively correlated to the degree of hepatic cirrhosis. The overexpression of integrinβ1 in HCC increased with Ed-mondson pathologic grade, encapsulation, metastasis and infection of HBV. Conclusion Integral may play an important role in the development of hepatic fibrosis-hepatic cirrhosis- hepatocellular carcinoma, and be helpful for evaluating the risk of hepatocellular carcinoma in hepatic cirrhosis and estimating the malignant degree and metastasis of hepatocellular carcinoma. Key words: Carcinoma hepatocellular; Integrinβ1; Laser Scanning Confocal Microscopy (LSCM)
