Abstract

A study was made of the correlation between sol yield and the degree of conversion in polymerization of practically all well-known types of oligoester acrylates of different functionality. Investigation of the composition of sol using various methods (IR spectroscopy, analysis of double bonds, calorimetry) shows that the entire sol consists only of unreacted initial oligomer at all stages of polymerization, and the densely crosslinked polymer formed has a maximum degree of conversion. Results enable a more detailed description to be given of the microheterogeneous model of polymerization.
