Abstract

Objective To investigate the correlation of nursing organizational culture and nurses' work engagement on nurses' intent to stay. Methods A total of 511 nurses were recruited from 4 three tertiary hospitals in Beijing investigated by nursing organizational culture mearsurement tools, nursing engagement scale, and nursing intent to stay scale, and analyzed the correlations. Results The nursing organizational culture had a positive influence on nurses' intent to stay (r=0.417, P<0.001) . Nurses' work engagement had a positive influence on nurses' intent to stay (r=0.595, P<0.001) . Hierarchical regress in both explained the 35.9% change of nurses' intent to stay together. Conclusions Effective actions should be taken to build positive nursing organizational culture and improve nurses' work engagement by manager, so as to enhance nurses' intent to stay.
