Methods From May 2016 to June 2017 of the people's Hospital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, with mechanical ventilation in ICU 65 cases of patients, collect of the tracheal secretions 1,2,3,5 days respectively, which were detected by ELISA specimens, and analysis of patients with clinical pulmonary infection, and to analyze the concentration of pepsin the relationship between VAP. Results All patients in the first tube weather pepsin positive rate was 12.31% in second days, the positive rate was 40% in third days, the positive rate was 66.15% in fifth days, the positive rate is 80%, with prolonged mechanical ventilation and positive rate increased (P 0, P<0.05). Conclusion The concentration of tracheal pepsin in patients with VAP was significantly higher than that in non VAP patients. And the concentration of tracheal pepsin in patients with VAP was positively related to the CPIS score. Key words: Critical care medicine; Gastroesophageal reflux; Ventilator associated pneumonia
