Abstract

Spatial measure category is one of the most basic cognitive categories. There are a lot of researches on adjectives in the category of spatial measurement. In the past, most studies have analyzed the spatial meaning and metaphorical meaning of these words from the perspective of semantics and asymmetry. However, there are few comparative studies based on corpus from the perspective of collocation. “大” and “크다” are the most commonly used spatial measure adjectives in Chinese and Korean. Based on the corpus of Chinese and Korean, this paper, from the perspective of adjective collocation, makes a comparative analysis of the spatial meaning, extended meaning and collocation generality and individuality of “大” and “크다” in Chinese and Korean by using qualitative and quantitative methods.
