Abstract
Based on the analysis in this paper, we present semantic-thematic field of I. Selvinsky’s metaphor, which cover the space of the poetic essay “The Journey across Kamchatka peninsula”. This space existent in six of the microfields (semantic fields) covering the entire area of human experience, all of reality as the material-subject and object-are ideal: 1) the physical world; 2) abstract; 3) man; 4) subject; 5) animals; 6) psychic world. Arranged the direction of regular metaphorical shifts in the work by I. Selvinsky on the given sample, we tried to identify the principal system of relations that are peculiar manner of the author in the formation of metaphors. The center of the metaphorical field, thus, is manyheaded. This is because metaphors of I.L. Selvinsky based on the reinterpretation of the real world, on the one hand, through equally real aspects of reality, and on the other - through conceptual, cognitive analogy, in the centre of which a man stands. The material or abstract object in a personified metaphorical unit is interpreted as a person, so that is available for the recipient make the comprehension of inanimate objects of the world in the categories of anthropoid characteristics and activity-related acts and motivations.
